Chinchilla 30.10.20

Early morning walk for me this morning at 5.30am. Not as much water in the weir as when we were here 22 months ago.

Lots of Jacaranda trees in flower.

Spent a few hours exploring the town. Photo op with a big melon can't be passed on.
Botanic gardens were opened last year.

More Jacarandas and Bougainvilles
Cenotaph got a soldier for Anzac day. It replaced an eternal flame sculpture.
Great water park.
Lots of sandstone.
The eternal flame which was at the Anzac memorial has been dumped outside the park. No one that we asked could tell us much about it.
Rotary park.

Interesting toilet block.

The cactoblastis monument 10kms out of town.

We had a Thai lunch in the park before heading back to the weir to rest. The temperature got very warm, allegedly 38°c

After dinner we watched a movie under the stars. The moon is too full for any satellite spotting.

We travelled 28km unhitched.
