Kogan 1.11.20

We went for a 22km, undulating bike ride on our folders this morning. 6kms was gravel. Amelia made scary cupcakes for morning tea.  The boys went down the paddock to collect more firewood to cook tonights dinner and the girls worked on our diamond art.  After Barry cooked us a bbq lunch everyone left me to go for a nap, so I added to my blog and read.  Our campfire dinner of beef n vegetables was perfect.  After dinner we tried out our new jaffle iron. Hmmm, we need a bit more practice. We made sweet jaffles using a few different combinations.  Banana was my favourite.  We have had a great time at Carol and Barrys. Tomorrow we move on to Tara.

Kogan 31.10.20

This morning we moved on to our friends property in Kogan, 34kms. One cranky cow because he wasn't allowed to go collecting wood for the fire.  We were treated to lasagne and salad around the campfire.  Amelia toasted square marshmallows after dinner. Rocko has made friends with Carols dogs and having a great time.

Chinchilla 30.10.20

Early morning walk for me this morning at 5.30am. Not as much water in the weir as when we were here 22 months ago.  Lots of Jacaranda trees in flower.  Spent a few hours exploring the town. Photo op with a big melon can't be passed on.  Botanic gardens were opened last year. More Jacarandas and Bougainvilles  Cenotaph got a soldier for Anzac day. It replaced an eternal flame sculpture.  Great water park. Lots of sandstone.  The eternal flame which was at the Anzac memorial has been dumped outside the park. No one that we asked could tell us much about it. Rotary park. Interesting toilet block. The cactoblastis monument 10kms out of town.  We had a Thai lunch in the park before heading back to the weir to rest. The temperature got very warm, allegedly 38°c After dinner we watched a movie under the stars. The moon is too full for any satellite spotting. We travelled 28km unhitched.

Chinchilla 29.10.20

We delayed our departure for a couple of days due to storms. Not sure how long we will be able to stay out due to more storms but the plan is for 10 days. Took the long way and had a not very nice Devonshire tea in Proston. On the way from Proston to Chinchilla  Chinchilla Weir campground   We travelled 362kms.
